Every discordjoblist account has a level, shown next to your name in the site header. Levels are our way of recognizing members who show up: the people posting real roles, applying thoughtfully, and helping communities find their staff.
You start at level 1 with 0 XP, and everything you do on the board moves you forward from there.
How do I earn XP?
XP comes from normal activity on the board. You never have to grind for it:
- Posting a job for your server earns 50 XP.
- Applying to an open role earns 25 XP.
- Someone applying to your listing earns you 15 XP.
- A poster viewing your application earns you 10 XP.
- Getting accepted for a role earns 40 XP, the biggest single award.
How much XP does a level need?
Each level requires a bit more XP than the last. Reaching level 2 takes 100 XP, level 3 takes another 200 XP, level 4 another 300 XP, and so on. Leftover XP carries over: if you are at 90 XP and earn 50, you level up and start the next level with 40 XP banked.
Your progress toward the next level is always visible in the menu under your profile picture.
What do levels unlock?
Levels place you in a rank, from Newcomer up to Discord Legend, with a colored badge that posters see on your applications. A higher rank works like a good reputation: proof you have been around and active. The most active members also appear on the public leaderboard.
Levels will never gate core features. Browsing, applying, and posting stay available to everyone.
Can I lose XP?
Almost never. Removing one of your own listings never takes XP away. The two exceptions: withdrawing an application returns the XP that application earned, and XP gained from spam or fake listings gets removed when we remove the listing.
